Alberto Sanchez

Previous experience: Centerbridge / Banco Santander / Bear Stearns / Deutsche Bank

Holding a Master’s in International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University, a Degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Alberto Sanchez has joined Centerbridge in early 2016. He worked at Grupo Santander from 1997 until 2015. For the last 10 years he was the bank’s Head of Investment Strategy for the Americas and became Vice-chairman of Santander Consumer USA, Board member of Santander Holdings USA, Santander Bank N.A. (formerly Sovereign Bank), and Santander Investment Securities.

Prior to joining Santander, Mr. Sanchez worked for Bear Stearns as a Managing Director and a Senior Latin American Bank Analyst, and at Deutsche Bank as a Senior Latin American Bank Analyst. He was ranked several times by Institutional Investor. He holds a Master’s in International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University, a Degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and studied Economics at UNED, Spain. He also studied Economics at UNED in the aforementioned country.

Mr. Sanchez is Board Member of Bluestem Brands, BAM Endowment Trust Board, Advisory Board of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Fordham University, Spain-US Chamber of Commerce and of the Greenwich Village Orchestra (a non-profit musical organization). He also teaches in the MBA Program at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.

Alberto Sanchez works at Centerbridge, covering Latam and FI opportunities. Before that, he worked at Grupo Santander for 18 years, including 10 years as the bank’s Head of Investment Strategy for the Americas and Vice-chairman of Santander North America.

Prior to joining Santander, he worked for Bear Stearns as a Managing Director and at Deutsche Bank as a Senior Latin American Bank Analyst.
