Mr. Fischer is a Member of the Board of Advisors of Atlantico Capital. With over 30 years of investment banking experience in the Americas and Europe, he has participated in tens of billions of dollars’ worth of transactions in a variety of industry sectors and products including mergers and acquisitions, privatization, public and private equity issuance, debt capital markets, loan syndications, securitization, capital structuring and project finance.
Mr. Fischer is formerly Managing Partner and now Senior Advisor to Amzak Capital Management, the primary investment vehicle for the Amzak group, where he joined in mid- 2007. Prior to joining Amzak, Mr. Fischer 's professional experience includes Managing Director with ABN AMRO (2003-2006) as corporate finance head for the Americas region, where he led teams across Latin America and the US and was a member of the global corporate finance management committee. Mr. Fischer also worked at Citigroup (1995-2001) as a regional investment banking head for Latin America, with product and origination responsibilities in Central America, the Caribbean and certain countries in South America.
Mr. Fischer began his banking career with Chase Manhattan (1982-1992), initially as an account officer in Puerto Rico, then in New York to form part of the Latin American Investment Bank, and finally in Spain as corporate finance head, where he was primarily responsible for M&A and Private Equity. While living in Spain, Mr. Fischer also spent 3 years in the computer and video game industry as deputy general manager of two privately held distribution companies.
Mr. Fischer currently serves on the board of Ilumno Holdings, a technology-enabled service provider to higher education institutions across Latin America, and Advantage Insurance a provider of customized insurance services to high-net-worth individuals and business owners to serve their risk management and financial planning needs. He has previously served on the boards of various companies in the telecom, paper and packaging, manufacturing and retail sectors.
Mr. Fischer is fluent in Spanish, has working knowledge of French and Portuguese and graduated from Bucknell University with a BA in Economics.
